Murree is a famous hill station in Punjab, Pakistan. It is the capital city of Murree tehsil and falls under the domain of Rawalpindi. It was built by the British government in 1850 and retained the status of British headquarters during summers till 1876. The name Murree comes from “Marhi” which means “The High Place”.
